McMaster-Carr

This prototype was designed for the McMasterpieces exhibition during ICFF 2009. All products created for the show were to be constructed solely from parts purchased from McMaster-Carr. A chimney like convection effect is achieved in this design by utilizing the side aperture in an inverted metal trashcan. A drum heater provides the heat source.

A semester-long workshop with 13 graduate 3-D Design students focused on the body's physical relationship with objects to better inform the design process. The project concluded with an exhibition of the student's work at The Javits Center during ICFF 2009.

Humidifier

This humidifier projects a cylindrical column of mist from a round vent circling the tank. A glance through the transparent lid reveals the current water level. Should it be low, the tank can be lifted off the base for refilling. An ultrasonic evaporation system provides energy-efficient, cool mist humidification for spaces up to 540 square feet.

These notebooks can be grouped together using the pocket on the cover, making it easy to combine different paper types, (graph, lined, blank,etc.) or to simply add on to an existing diary or sketch book. Made from recycled paper using renewable energy.

Dishrack

A dense concentration of rods useful for holding cutlery and thin glassware fades evenly to a spacing large enough to accommodate bowls, plates and pans. A flexible mesh connects the posts, allowing the structure to be twisted open and rinsed. The excess water drains into a tray beneath, which can be emptied and cleaned.

The profile of this doormat is is cut to resemble a brush that was once uniform in length but has been worn in. The shorter bristles can be used for everyday use, while the longer are useful for removing extra dirt when necessary.
